Digital Collage
We had to make a Digital Collage using the pictures that were provided.
Process
- I decided to go for an underwater theme since there were 3 underwater
creatures in the file provided. The idea I have is to have giant fish (and a
shark) swimming around an abandoned building.

- So the truth is that I didn't know we have to only use the picture provided
for the assignment until a few days before the submission date. I
actually made 2 more before making this final collage.
Extra
- I like how they turn out so I will be putting them here. :]
|
| "WELL CHEERS!!!!" |
- This was the first Digital Collage I made. It is based on an abnormality
from Lobotomy Corporation. I find them silly because they are shrimps guarding
a vending machine and handing out free drinks to whoever works with them.
(There is a chance you might get swept away by the waves and end up on a
fishing boat with them)
- I choose a colour palette from a colour photo and then recolour with them.
- This is the second Digital Collage I made. There is no story/reference for
it, it's just a random idea I had in mind. My thought process kinda went:
"Haha human bug dancing with human plant." "Hmm bug eats plants... So human
bug eats human plants... Audience throws flowers... Nice."
Digital Imaging: Exercise 1 - Hearst Mansion
We have to edit ourselves into the picture provided.
Process
- I just followed the instructions in the tutorial video provided.
(While making this I forgot to take screenshots of the progress and the
PSD file was corrupted and can't be restored.)
Final
Digital Imaging: Exercise 2 - Recolouring
We have to recolour a picture we choose from the provided folders of Black
and White photos.
Process
- I choose a photo from the folder provided and follow the tutorial.

REFLECTION
Since it was the first week of using Photoshop I was learning a lot
of its basic tools. I know the basics of how the layers work and some
common tools that can be found in other art programs. I have no
problem with Digital Collage, it was simple to understand since
I had done something similar to this.
Unlike digital collage, Digital Imaging wasn't as simple.
Here we start to use some more complicated tools. The same tool had
crashed my laptop many times for unknown reasons. One thing I find
hard to do is select mask, no matter how much I select the edge
area is always not as clean as I wanted it to be. But from the
struggles I had learned ways to bypass them after many
trials.
